Hello!

I'm Dave and this is my progress blog for my 2002 Yellow GTI.

Bought the car in Dec 07 after selling my other GTI, traveled from Bristol to Hull by train to collect it and drove it back :D

Saved up the cash and bought, Group N billstein shocks and Eicbach springs. Got that all fitted and...

Also de-badged it and took the gay mud flaps off.

Really happy with the results and the billstein and eibach setup is awesome

Nah not getting a raceland :p atm it will prob be a supersprint, but not really too sure whats what with these sorts of things, any suggestions?

Then after that will be a BMC CDA induction kit, I was going to get the obvious 1.6 16v fit, but at the last Meet Liam (liaminllam) suggested to go for a 306 fitment, which I'll prob do.

Thats it for now really. Long term plans will be to get a front end spray to get rid of the stone chips and a little ding on the bonnet, but i should imagine that will be after the shows n that :)

Had a crash, well not really a crash, I bumped into the back of someone who I thought was pulling away. GAY! although I was lucky all that was damaged was the bonnet, and number plate.

Getting it all sorted this week if the bodyshop get there act together! got the bonnet already so just waiting for them. Will definately be done before FCS n thats the main thing :P

You'll also see my spot is cracked after a gert stone hit it :(

dont smooth it ;), getting a new bonnet for mine non-smoothed. just need to chip out a mahoosive lump of filler.

where did you get your bonnet from? im looking for a new one but dont want to buy some non galvy stuff that rots as soon as i get a stone chip

Was £99 delivered, very good quality and apparently alot of bodyshops use them as replacement parts as apposed to going to main dealers.

Came next day delivery aswell

dont suppose you have any idea if its galvanised or not?

just think its a big advantage as my wings have the paint chipped off all over them with bare metal showing but its nice and dull zinc with no rust. obviously need to get them painted up but shows it really works :D

After my bump, I managed to get the bonnet done before FCS :)

Had the front wings and bonnet sprayed, wanted to do the front bumper as well, but just didn't have the cash :(

Paint match is ok, not the best, but I've heard yellow is a bitch to get right.

Also 2 days before FCS I acquired a 10-inch crack in my windscreen and not being fully comp, had to fork out 99 quid to have that replaced.

Not sure what to do next, after seeing the army off nanas on black wheels at FCS,I might have to go for a different colour scheme.
