I'm a member on there and have been to a couple of trackdays. Theres one tomorrow at Knockhill but I want the car serviced before putting it on the track. I'll be going to one this summer though.

Going up to watch tonight hopefully. Been raining here today though (5 miles away).

That and my car wouldn't start this morning :( So if i can get it started when i go home i'll be up for an hour to see whats happening.

Won't be going on Sunday. Will be busy working on the car to sort bits and pieces for future track days.

I was actually thinking about doing a 106 meet at one of the trackscotland days at Knockhill. I know we'd only get 4 or 5 people interested but theres 35 spaces so its all good.

Well since people have taken an interest in my 5 dr. I would be willing to let some choice people trash it on the track. I know people always fear breaking their daily driver with hard track use. In about 8 weeks time ill have my second 16valver and the 5 dr will be a track slag.

It's no different from driving hard around country roads. Only difference is, if you get it wrong, you don't hit a wall or go into a field !

Seen those video's before,

I'd just be paranoid of breaking something then having to pay to fix it,

Or even worse hitting some one and writing both car's off or someone hitting me,

never done a track day before but when kaning it on country road i never go beyond my limits,

Learned from a bad mistake before in my last GTi, made my insurance jump up alot!

i'm sure they do training days as well, I don't think i'd be afraid of ruining my car, i'd be a bit of a hazard though, going round in a 1.1

It's not a race though, so theres no competitive factor. After the first few laps you notice what cars to let past before they get close behind you. And as its a 35 car limit theres only 20 cars allowed at any one time, so theres plenty of space.

The 1st trackday I went to, there was a guy with a GT-R Skyline and I don't think he went above 60mph, he took it very easy. Afterwards I was talking to him and he said he loved it !! So, go at your own limit. If you really are para then theres always track insurance as Mad Pete suggested !

I know if you went you'd fucking enjoy it mate. Just make sure the car is well serviced before going on and it should be ok !

Car's always well serviced anyway mate,

Can't wait to see how it does on the roller's,

Seems so slow at the moment so dunno if there's something wrong or I'm just used to it,

I know you say it's not a competition but I'm the highly competative type!

I noticed that on the way up to Dundee !!!

PS I've been looking at GTi's for a work/track car !

It was a swimming pool ! Worst conditions ever to race in, but the 106 done me proud. Plus I'm an awesome driver
