I dont normally like saxos but this seems to be something else mate, really like it! The spec is very inspiring too for valver owners. Would you see much difference with KMS or similar - im contemplating whether to wait and get standalone with cams and remap or just standard ecu/cams.
Very impressive Sax matey. Best colour as well... ;)

thanks dont think i would gain much bhp going to standalone / kms an i will not be changing to throttle bodys ,so im ok as i am just going to look at making the car abit lighter maybe c5 wheels lighter seats bolted to floor as seat bases very heavy an then fibreglass bonnet an tailgate

Hi mate can you tell me a bit more about this valeo paddle clutch you bought ? not heard anything of these before ? where did you get that from ? how much ? what BHP is it gaurateed to ? i thought valeo made O/E replacement kit not uprated performance parts ?

i was told oe clutchs were good for near on 200 bhp anyway but out above 180 id proberly go for a more extreme clutch tbh
andywiddss1
23-05-2008, 08:21 PM
try doing 6 or 7 1/4 mile sprint starts at elvington in 20 mins with sticky tyres the standard one was shit mate
ok for normal road use
an clutches are rated on torque not bhp mate
loudandproud205
23-05-2008, 08:33 PM
yeah i know that,
i was refereing to road use thou mind it was from the uber reliable people at pug-performance
andywiddss1
23-05-2008, 10:13 PM
i would say normal clutch is fine for road use
as its just normal driving mate
track days an 1/4 mile sprints different game
loudandproud205
23-05-2008, 10:31 PM
well mines coped with 144bhp fine clutch release baring dont like it thou and neither does my diff lol, but meh who cares cant be doing with the snatchyness of paddle clutch (yes am a girl lol)

Please, explain so that I can understand it with my bad English...;)

you thought of getting lighter seats in a bid to beat ricky?
andywiddss1

you thought of getting lighter seats in a bid to beat ricky?
ha ha the difference between rickyp an me is his best time 14.4 sec my best time 14.5 sec so i will not be buying lighter seats also i have a full cage in now so the 1/4 mile is not an option anymore an trackdays are so much more fun mate
yeah yeah, i hear that beating ricky is your all consuming mission, dont forget he has a cage too! although he weighs about hte same as an average toddler which helps lol.
you make your windows yourself or buy a kit?

well today me an a mate spent 6 hours welding extra plates to the floor then the mounts to the plates so the cage is now fully fitted an welded in like a cage should be .an i only drove it a couple of miles home in the rain but it feels so much tighter

I would do a full rebuild now you are at the stage you are..
Are there no score marks on the crank at all?
As the slightest imperfection will result in a loss of oil pressure.

checked all big end shells an crank journals an they look ok. with the piston coming down too far its snapped one of the oil feed jets off that sends oil to number one big end but they are only a screw in jet an iv got another block coming pistons crank rods ect .
