well, just been out n bought some stuff, some upholstery cleaner and t cut. Also got a blue neon for the sub, gonna see what it looks like. its started relly rainin here, but i'll be a hardened 106 owner and go and clean it anyway, pics be up in about 2 hours ish lol

I washed and t cut the outside, then dressed the trim and wheels. Inside i hoovered, shampooed seats and carpets, scrubbed the mud off the dashboard :o and put the black spray stuff everywhere :)

So now i'm nakrd!!!

Also my audio stuff turned up today and i'll be fitting it tommorrow. Cant wait :D

Done it!! fitted the sub and amp. God it was hard work!!
We got halfway through it and couldn't understand why there wasn't any power going to the amp. then realised dumbass here had put the conector onto the negative terminal on the battery, not the positive lmao.
Then there was the small matter of trying to get the cables behind the dash and to the head unit. I spent about an hour lying down in the footwell lol.
So, after a lot of problems and swear words its in. well chuffed!! :)
Took it up the road for a quick spin and it needs a bit of tweeking but sounds good :D

no, only had the power cable running that side so it wasnt too much of a problem. had all the other cables on the drivers side. wasn't sure how to get the conection from the battery into the car, but found an old wire left over from an alarm i guess, so tied it onto that and pulled it through :)

Phew!!! Took it for an MOT this morning, it failed :( Horn not working and headlamp adjuster not working! Quoted 112 quid for parts!!! And they wouldnt be here till thursday!! :(
BUT...
Hehe, I went to good old scrap yard and found both parts in about 15 mins bloke charged me a fiver, came home, fitted them in less than 10 and back to the garage to have it retested for free, so its sorted!! SOOO chuffed lol. i've gotta go to work tonight!!!!:D

No pics of sub and stuff as its not screwed in yet so i'll wait till then!

Right, what do people think.
Im a bit stuck atm, ive got a fairly good job and im planning on going full time in the summer. However i do owe some money to people so.. i wont have as much cash at the end of the summer as i thought i would to be bale to buy a gti and pay insurance and tax and petrol.
So.. do i stick with the very original plans of doing my 1.1 up, as in gti interior, alloys, lower, etc. This will be cheaper as i will do the mods gradualy?
THEN.. if it ends up that i have the cash i could swap the engine to a 1.6 and have a conversion.. i just dont know.
Plus point to that, i get to have fun doing the mods, get to have things how i like them and i keep my original car which is good nick and special to me as my dad bought it me.
Bad point,, costs more to convert, could go wrong, insurance would be stupid.
What do you think?? (ps i got no no claims atm, been driving a 18 months with no claims or cautions etc)

I was thinking of just getting a GTi but this doesnt look possible in the short term, so i'm gonna have a bit of fun doing this one up. AND if in the future i can afford it, she's going to be converted to a 1.6 :D but, that is going to be a long way in the future!

I was also thinking that while i'm doing the lights and mirror, i might spray the bumpers to match?? what do you think guys?
Also, if anyone please knows which K&N air filter replaces the standard one in the air box i will love you forever lol, its starting to annoy me that i cant find the one i need!!

So, now i'm looking for some new bumpers, preferably GTi ones, the back isnt too bad at all but i may aswell get the both if i'm goin all GTi lol.

Im quite worried about the wing though, if you look in the pic it seems to have dropped away from the bonnet and its bent in by the lights. Also the bonnet seems too far away fro the top of the lights? Do you think it will be easy to fix?

Do the Saxo bumpers fit the 106? just i know there are a few saxo's in the scrappy.

De Wriper kit is still on bloody order, and my KN stuff should be here tommora so put up more pics when its done.

Also, does anyone know if i could get the bumpers from pug sprayed china blue already or do they just come ready to spray? How much do you think they'd be?

not sure if you'd be able to get the bumpers ready sprayed from pug, but if you can, it'll be pricey!

it could be that the bumper supports the light, but i doubt it, but also, i don't know anything about cars! (having only owned on for 4 days)

it could be that the wing was knocked down and took the light with it a bit? dunno...

bumper doesnt support the lights, the lights are held onto the slam panel.

haha removing the front bumper is my least favourite job in the world, you have one bolt either side holding the ends to the side of the car, two bolts along the front behind the radiator that are the easy ones to get to when under the car, and then there is one that is only found on the drivers that is an utter nightmare to get to, if you get under the car and look to the front nearside corner, you should see a bolt holding the filler bottle to the bumper.

Once they are off, give it a persuasive tug on each side and it will slide off

As you can see ive done the wiper and the lights and things, im gonna have to re do the lights i think, they seem a bit uneven and in the light the pics were taken they look a strange colour too!! i asure you they are china blue though!! hehe

hmm. not best pleased. used the megs stuff and it was all really greasy? left big marks on the car where i'd buffed the polish. the clay bar was great, and so was the tyre shine and the shampoo, but the wax i used was a bit crap and so was the scratch x. maybe it was just me. will have pics up tmra :)
