View Full Version : Remote cable and ground cable
Can anyone tell me what is my remote cable is? I know it should be blue but there's 3 differant ones! lol
(kenwood head unit) I thought i new what one it was but it doesn't work :(
Also where has everyone put there ground cable?
Cheers
Theres a few lose wires there you need to sort them out or you will cause problems.
The remote wire is usually on its own, but you have two cables.
If your headuint is a recent(ish) model, go on kewoods website and get a wiring schematic and that will tell you what the remote wire is.

looks like the one far right.
whats your manual say? if you havn't got one have you tired looking it up on the kenwood website with the model number? should be on the front/back of the head unit.

im pretty sure its the blue that comes out the back on its own, not attached to the main loom.
you can test it by using a multimeter or ordinary car bulb.
stick one half of the bulb on the blue wire, put the other side to the metal housing of the stereo.
turn the stereo on, the remote wire will cause the bulb to light (or send a multimeter up to 12V).
but im pretty sure its the seperate wire.

yea you need to sand the paint off around the bolt or you will get a dodgy connection.
i use a metal file, only takes a second
