Ne who im just wondering, if i were to get it fitted, would u lot say its 1, or 2 hours labour?
I might fit it myself if i can be assed in this weather, ive got the tools for the job.

Hmmm still wondering if i should do it my self. Experiece wise i havn't replaced 1, and i know its not a hard job.
I have a haynes manual and alot of tools.
The shaft only cost me £15 instead of about £90 from G.S.F so the money ive saved could go towards garage costs.

As most of you know im someone who likes to do things myself :) So just out of interest whats the hardest part of the job?/ Ne thng to be careful of?
Cheers

Undo hub nut - need a huge bar as they are mentally tight
If you have center caps you can do this with the car on the floor by removing the center cap - if not then you'll have to get someone to hold the brake on while you do it

Loosen the 3 13mm nuts on top of the strut
Undo the 16mm nut on the track rod end and use a ball joint splitter to seperate this and move out the way

I dont think you car has anti roll bar drop links so you dont have to bother with them
Give the end of the driveshaft a few taps

Remove the bolt through the bottom of the strut then seperate the strut from the lower arm (this takes a couple of people usually)

Pull the strut towards you and it'll either leave the driveshaft in the gearbox or pull it out the box (you remembered to drain the gearbox oil right? LOL)

Then remove, fit new and refit backwards through above instructions

Make sure you torque everything up as its all fairly major stuff
And make sure you fill the gearbox back up to the correct level :)

get yourself a new hub nuts aswell, not supposed to use them again once you take them off

Thanks u 2. Think il get my m8 to help me on that 2 man part of the job.
Is draining and refilling the gearbox simple? Iv only drained/filled the oil form the top of the engine....Or this the same thing and im being a fucking knob?
