Hi,

I need to bore a hole in the bulk-head in order to run a power cable from the battery to the boot of my car (106 gti) for the sub and amp. Is there any existing routes that are any easier? I cant find any.

Also, what is the 2nd wire that needs ran from the head unit down the opposite side of the car to avoid interference or sumthing?

Cheers

Look at your engine bay - at the brake master cylinder on the right hand side

Follow the bulk head down from there - near the bottom is a rubber bung

If you push the power cable through there it comes out in the passenger footwell (not many people know this :))

Lift the carpet up on the passenger side and there is a little access panel to get to the wishbone bolts - lift the sound deadening up and the cable will come through there - saves making new holes :)

The other cable is a 12v switch so the amp only comes on with the head unit - to stop your battery going flat when your not in the car

Basically you need to run the 12v from the battery and 12v from the headunit down one side of the car and then the RCA leads down the other as power cables will cause interference with the signal in the RCA leads

Hope this helps :)
