Ok maybe not so much of the beast!
Its a 1998 1.1 Zest3. Bought her with 43000 on the clock last year for just under £1500
Here is how she looked.

First thing i done was to replace the number plates, its amazing how a new set of number plates makes the car look so much fresher!
Then i de-badged the rear and sides, was happy with the result but in certain light you can still see a ghosting of the signs on the rear even after a heavy t-cut and polish session. The badges are in the process of being painted black along with the border around the lion on the front.
Next was the install, i needed to keep as much boot space as poss so kept it neat and tidy. I have a pioneer headunit, pioneer comps, Fli 400s 2 channel amp and a Fli 12" Active Sub. All powered off a nice fat 4awg cable!
Whilst browsing ebay i fell inlove with some twin angel eye black headlights, however couldnt warrent spending the amount of money they wanted for them. This is when i stumbled across a girl called Abbie, what a star, sold me her barely used black angel eye headlights for £50 including postage!!!! Oh what a difference they made!!!!
Off with the bumper

On go the lights
http://images.domino.org/d/96076-2/DSC00907.JPG
Whilst the bumper was off i thought id kill two birds with one stone, so off i trotted to halfords and spent my £20 gift voucher (cheers nan lol!) on some black mesh and meshed my bumper incl the foglight holes.
In my opinion the front end looks so much better now, will be even better when its sitting 40mm lower in a few weeks!

At this point i felt alloys were neeeeded! So i was going to get some plain 5 spoke black alloys, but when i went to buy them online i spotted some black and polished BK 333's so went for them with the 45 profile tyre.
So this is how it looks today, just been polished.

Sorry for the long long long post lol!

Good work tidying it up :) Nice to see you've kept it smart and subtle ;)
I really like the front end look, I know what you mean about the plates making a huge difference
Only thing I'm not too keen on is the wheels, just not my thing really. Would be nicer black IMO ;)
Looks good as a whole though, will be nice when lowered :D
You've made a good start mate.
As james said, the wheels aint my thing.

The headlights make a huge difference, nice one. Not too sure on the wheels
though.
With the others really. Wheels are not my cup of tea, but the headlights look great :D

Marshall
26-06-2007, 11:55 AM
cheers gaz i see you're from the peterborough area too, where abouts?
im thinking about the laguna splitter mate, just fitted one to a saxo and it does look good, he struggles getting onto his drive with it and it isnt even lowered! Very nearly bought one yesterday but it was stapled to the laguna bumper and i couldnt be bothered to get it off.
the front badge along with the rear are sprayed mate, took a while to get it right and it isnt perfect up close but it looks so much better IMO

Wooo being lowered 40mm next sat, hopefully the torsion bar isnt seized, should be a big learning curve for me...luckily ive talked a mate into it and he has done a few so should be ok......just in time for French Car Show which im very happy about!
Also got some show plates comming, they are german style so black with silver font, should go well with the colours!

Looking good... Lik the plates and the colour coding... How did you attch your plates... Screws???
I wil wait for mine to come before I decide!!!
Marshall
06-07-2007, 06:58 PM
yea, i tried velcro, but the covers over the original screws dont allow the velcro to contact so resulted in drilling and screwing, only takes 5mins to swap over
looks good, alloys arent my cuppa tea but once lowered may suit it a bit more, id go 60 if i were u, mines 45 and im not happy, but its amazing how high they are on 15s without lowering, cant remember mine like it was then lol

front is down 35mm now, looks alot more though.
Didnt manage to get the rear done as i had to go shopping for two new track end rods as they needed to be cut off.
May attempt the rear tomorrow then its off to get the tracking done monday.
I would love to lower it more, i really would, but a friends saxo is 60mm on standard vtr wheels and it love to scrape around here due to the dodgy roads out ere in the sticks! Oooooo ArrRRrR

Looks good at the front mate, wont be attempting the rear today as after being in the sun all day i have sun stroke and feel just a tad under the weather :(
Should be a big learning curve doing the rear, but im confident
Marshall

Marshall

Rear obviously doesnt wanna be lowered!
Its seized big time, ive also got a nasty vibration now after putting it back together but i cant work out why becuase the torsion bars never budged, all that came off was the anti roll bar and shocks, both of which are back on nicely!
