Hiya guys, got a couple of problems with my amp.

Firstly, if I leave the fuse in, it constantly stays on with the blue power LED on. As soon as I turn the ignition on and switch my HU on, it switches to protect mode and the red light comes on.

I have it wired up correctly cut does anyone know why its staying on? Its draining my battery and also why it switches to protect when the HU is on?

Cheers

make sure u got the remote wire wired in to the head unit/ wires? otherwise it wont turn on and off when u turn the hu on and off

also make sure that u gt the inputs the right way round either end

as above sounds like you`ve got the amp remote cable wired to a constant live hence the power drain, as it would have a switchable live so only live when sterio is turned on.

course if your amp remote from the sterio didnt work you could always fit your own on/off switch on your remote cable so you manually turn the amp on when you need it so you dont drain the battery by having it on constantly...

but ideally check the amp remote as thats where the problem is

Thanks guys, it's sorted now.

My remote wire is kinda makshift behind the HU as it's Alpine so there is just a socket coming out the back and I just coiled up loads of the remote wire and taped it into the socket. This is what probs caused the problem and will have to sort it!

thanks!

as for protect mode mate , usually your earth , i only say this because having the remote wire permanantly live and the amps fine, its only when you turn the hu on and the amp begins to take direct power that it trips to protect mode. sounds to me like its not getting rid of the power quickly enough.
