while i was in town today after getting the wheels balanced (had 2 new front tyres before i got it and the muppets that did it cant of had the gear to balance solid wheels) i went round to halfords and grabbed aload of wet and dry paper, seen as it was a nice day i thought i'd rub my rocker covers down and give them a good polish

i dont just have one white 106 mate i've got a white S1 xnd aswell as a runabout
well apart from a few little things this will probally be me done till i get all the suspension and wheels bought
yeah its does 70 mpg so i aint selling it in a hurry i thought about sticking the gti wheels on it they might show the rest of the car up though LOL
still wouldnt mind an S1 rallye interior for it either so if anyones got one going very cheap or free to a good home come see me
well on the way home from work lastnight i decided to see how much off a difference the strut brace made and i was fairly impressed it felt abit tighter through the corners and i can chuck it about abit harder too :D
may have a new toy for the car tomorrow aswell so watch this space
small update i thought i'd fit my quickshift today seen as it was a nice day and there was nothing to do

Jesus thats bad
Has it bent any key parts like suspension tops and stuff?
What you planning? welding a new inner wing in?
fortunatly no 99% of the damage was just to the passenger side chassis leg
plan is to put in a whole chassis leg off the gti thats sat at shells then a full tidy up while i'm at it :)
ste on shells log in
LOL they dont look that good they need doing again something else for my big list of things to do
got abit more done today the dash is now out and so is the windscreen
also heres a couple of pics of what it looked like just after it happened anyone easily shocked may want to look away now LOL
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/Photo-0261.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/Photo-0262.jpg

i've been in worse phil
it'll be even better than it was once its all sorted dont you worry about that nothing is stopping me from putting it back together and you should know by now i'll never sell it no matter how mashed up it is
well spent an hour or so finishing off the inside this morning as i had nowt else to do
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00593.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00594.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00596.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00597.jpg
and a couple of pics of the boxes of stuff to go back in :(
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00595.jpg
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00598.jpg
well did a tiny wee bit more work on it tonight
started by taking the exhaust off
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00628.jpg
then i turned it round to get it ready for taking the engine out
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00631.jpg
its now up on axle stands with the wheels off ready for the engine to come out tomorrow
wish me luck LOL
good luck love ;)
cheers sweetness ;):p
well after a busy day i'm please to say the engine now lives here
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00633.jpg
instead of here
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00634.jpg
so the car is now looking like this but its almost ready to go away :D
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00635.jpg
just the brakes to bleed now and all the resivour and shit to take out and the sound deadening from behind the dash to remove which is going to be a right arse then its ready to go
oh and i've got the towing eye to cut off the fubar chassis leg so it can be welded onto shells car as some silly fool cut hers off to fit that fibreglass bumper the car used to have on
its safe enough where it is i can see anyone picking it up and running down the street with it in a hurry
spent a few more hours on the car today finishing up the little jobs so once all the parts i need arrive its ready to go away and get fixed :D:D
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00639.jpg
who needs a dash eh
oh and started doing a few little changes that i thought i might aswell do while its in bits, first one was relocate the passenger airbag switch to beside the hazards and heated rear screen and fag lighter
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y280/steblitz/DSC00640.jpg
looks better than it did down in the centre console and now i can have a proper centre console aswell :)
this will probally be the last update untill it comes back now and i start work rebuilding it
