Rite, ive had a look around the forum and carnt see a thing of what im looking for,
rite i want to lower my quiky soon as its pissing me off, need it 40mm all around, not too low but for best handling, and keep the back just slightly higher to give it a meaner look.
Ive heard that becuase the engine is lighter than the Gti i mite need to get lower springs than the 40mm ???
any pics would be brilliants!
Thanks

have a look at my quiksilver mate... the car has been lowered 60mm at the front and around 50mm on the front.

i did bwt the same to mine 45mm front, and 50 on the back, vastly improved the handling, couldnt believe how good she is round corners and roundabouts.
Leezo: Did you have to get the arches rolled?? What about scrubing any problems with that???
that looks more than 60 at the front?
also what the hell you done to your wheels!!!

nope havent had the archers rolled or anything, just bought the springs and put her on her arse, lol.
i dont have any problems with scrubbing as ive kept the standard 14" alloys and got 195/45/14 yokohama low profile tyres!

i think its just the camera angle tbh mate, i think it sits at the perfect height though the ride is a bit hard!
nothing has been done to the wheels mate its just that the pictures were taken on the motorway and also on the rollers!
what dya reckon about spraying the alloys the same colour as the quiksilver badges on the side of the car? would it look trick?
^^^ i'd gathered lol'
be pretty good to paint wheels that colour. maybe the sideskirts and arches too. that might look teh sex. then maybe blend the arches into the bump stips and paint them the same colour!!!
oh the possiblities

lol... i think ill just stick to the alloys being sprayed for the time being, all thats left to do for me is just get my hid's on and maybe cam it!
im thinking of selling up this year and getting a nana gti/white s2 rallye!

Oh ok. Im running on 175/65 so that will be why i have problems with scrubbing. Where did you get your tyres and how much were they each??

hmm i cant remember the site that i bought my tyres from but there are quite a few cheap ones around! i paid around £180 for 4 new yokohama a539's... so like £45 each! i think anything under the £50 mark is a good price!
have you tried www.mytyres.co.uk (http://www.mytyres.co.uk)
the 175/65/14 are the standard tyres that come with the car? i had them when it was first lowered and i didnt have a problem with scrubbing then....
