Sounds like wheel bearing m8
If it gets louder when you speed up
It disappears when you turn a corner (the weight off the car transfers from one side to the other)

I've got something like this, after the wheel took a bit of a knock. Weight transfer (turning left) makes it louder. It's like a humming noise, as if something is rubbing lightly (btw, nothing is rubbing).
Does that description sound like your problem John?
Anyone else think it's the wheel bearing in both cases? I can't see any problems with the CV joint (boot isn't broken).

Humming or a drone noise is usually wheel bearing
I would say wheel bearing for both off you

Great, thanks :) Car is going in for diagnostics either tomorrow or Thursday so I'll mention that and get it checked out. Is there a way to test the bearing compared to the other wheel? Always good to go armed with a little knowledge.

Jack the car up, Hold the wheel at the top with one hand bottom with other, give it a wiggle, if theres play its your wheel bearing, Also if you have just had your C.V Joint changed it may be the wrong type of C.V joint for the bearing, This happened to me when a driveshaft was changed and it killed the wheel bearing, I had to get the C.V joint on the end of the driveshaft changed to the right type, You will probablly find that the bearing is heating up due the the contact not being quite correct between the end of the shaft and bearing.

Also A Giid Tip Is To Jack Up The Side That Is Making The Noise, Sit In The Car With The Handbrake On, Select 4th Gear And Gently Release The Clutch Making The Wheel Spin In Mid Air And You Should Hear The Noise. Just Make Sure You Dont Do It With A Car That Has An Lsd (limited Slip Diff) Otherwise You'll End Up Coming Off The Jack!
