does anyone have any bright ideas as to how you remove a factory fit gti spoiler from the tailgate.

the spoiler has been bonded on.

i picked the tailgate up from a scrappy so I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE TAILGATE :)

extremely grateful for any help, my dad suggested blow torch on the tailgate to heat the glue up...

2 M6 Bolts recessed into the top lip of the spoiler.

And theres 2 Black screws on the very edge of the spoiler where the boot seal hits the back tips of the spoilers.

If its factory fit, how has it been bonded on?

open the tailgate up and then look up to where the spoiler is... you will either see two screws or two black rubbery grommet things.

if its the screw there you go... if its the rubber grommet things, pop em off and they should be behind there....? I think thats it! thats how mine was.

is it standard to the car???? if its just bonded and not bolted in anyway it may just be a case of giveing it a gd yank lol

it just bonded on, heat it up and it should yank off as a last resort some solvents may work but they also will FUBAR the paint and possibly the plastic spoiler

if there are no screws anywhere!! then I assume its bonded on! maybe get something thin and start to scrape it away if you can?

this is what i've been doing but i can see the bolts when i yank it, the spoiler is in twoparts. you bolt on the first section and the top section clicks on top. I just dont know how to remove the top bit!

jam a thin bladed screwdriver in the gap and slide it along the clip line till the top comes off. Go gentle as you might snap some clips.
