Im not completely wised up in knowledge in things like this, but i guess with proper amount of air in the tyres, and new tread they will feel lighter as there is less friction gripping the road. I know having the correct amount of air in will make a heck of a difference.

Only thoughts I have im affraid lol

Could depend on lots of things.

Tyre pressures, tyre pattern, tyre width.

How long was the car jacked up for and how long did you allow it settle before you drove it and how far did you drive it?

id say the car was jacked up for about 30 mins each side max
left if for bout an hour after tht b4 i drove it

im stumbed about the psi still though which isnt a good thing!

Was it quite windy?

The tyre pressures for my GTi is 2.2bar or 32psi front & rear:)

I had 15's put on my 106 the other month and yes the steering did feel a lot lighter. I had new tyres obviously, they are thicker and a different tread.

I also had a heck of a lot of vibration at 40mph so I took them back. The guy weighed them and said they were fine, when he put them back on they had no trouble!

Theyre fine now, except for when theres weight in the back....

myson put wolfrace katana 15's on his zest 2 1.1 and the stearing did feel a lot lighter with them on. OK now he is used to them. The only prob he has now is driver side rear wheel catching with passengers in the back. But a mate of mine has a rear beam lined up to put on sometime

i had the same. its nothing to worry about, its just cus they're such new tyres and they're slightly bigger to start with when your turning they 'slide' easier, theres nothing wrong with that, you'll soon get used to them, its not that they have less grip or steering is lighter. nothing to worry about

I say the reason for it feeling lighter is going from standard 13" steelies to 15" alloys you've increased the centre of gravity & as the 106 weighs naff all then it'll feel more floaty.
