Fitting some new pads, taken the old ones off they came off like this:

The top one was the inner pad, bottom the outer.
Now i replaced the pads with new ones EXACTLY the same, when i put the pads in the callipers the same way i took them out the pad wear markers were offset like the following:

These don't seem right to me, and ive put them in exactly the way i took them out, i thought the wear lines ussually lined up like this:

So im thinkin that maybe the previous owner had the old pads fitted by a monkey. Are they wrong how they are? should the lines line up?
Any help would be great cos i have got myself confused now, and im sat outside freezin my ***locks off.:(
