Clay Bars

So my cars pretty mucky.
I'm going to wash & wax it before it goes for its MOT at the end of the month & I'm thinking I'll give a clay bar a go. The paint on the car isn't brilliant so I've bought some colour restorer to try on it too.
So a couple of questions, firstly when do I do the claying? My plan was:

Wash/Shampoo -> Dry -> Colour Restore -> Wash/Shampoo -> Clay -> Rinse/Water -> Dry -> Polish (x2) Then do the plastics etc.

Does this sound right or should I clay before I Colour Restore?

Also where's the best place to buy a clay bar & lube? Ebay seems ok for Meguiars kits at £8.95 + £3.95 P&P, still sounds pricey or is it me being a tight arse?

ok thanks for that, would you recommend using the colour restorer before or after the clay?

It doesnt matter really as long as you clar after a wash and before the polish.

i had an extreme car wash today and was abit hung over from last night! so spent 4 hours on her! 1st time using the clay bar and WOW! it gave such a superb finish, looks like its just come out the showroom, im one for getting my car perfect no matter how long it takes! usually twice a week! (no i dont have ocd!) but would reccommend to anyone!

yes i did! i also used the two bucket method! which just coomes to show the amount of shit u can still be washing your car with every time, if no one has tried it, try it!

just do it, one of the best things i ever bought! well worth the ££ ;)
