Accelerator Cable snapped

hey guys, My Accelerator cable went on New years eve....GRRR! My girlfriend was driving, its now stuck in Taunton, i live in Bridgwater (they're about 10 miles apart!) any suggestions on what i should do? gonna call my break down service later and see what they think, don't want them to take me to Peugeot and charge me a stupid amount of money!

Piece of string to get it home, tie it to the bit the cable norm pulls, then out the front of the bumper and thro the window.
I have had to do this twice, great fun!


Edit- Itl get the car home, then just go to a scrappy and get another cable!
New there about £30 from gsf but from pug i dread to think.

yeah my mate did that with his mini, but used an electric guitar lead through the window and drove home :)

Hey guys, got the car recovered last night, bloke was really nice and explained it all to me in idiot terms! lol! my dads gonna pick up a cable for me later and fit it!

I love the idea but can you explain it or do a diagram of where your suposed to attach the string please,

My cable snapped and half way home i decided to jam my throttle opena bit, then some pr1ck decided to chuck and egg at me :mad:

Any diagrams of info would be great for feture use?

When you jammed your throttle open you should have noticed a plastic bit moving just to the side of it, tie your string to that:D

My mate had to do the manual pulling the accelerator cable thing on the way to USC, just got off the m'way, and it snapped at the top of the slip road, so he did that to Halfords, got a new cable, fitted it in their car park, and drove to Pod, lol.
Says it hurt his hand though, so its not reccomended for long distances.
