Hey, just bought myself a quickshift, tried to fit it and it dosn't seem to fit on my 1994 1.4 XSI, the ball joint at the top of the quickshift is too larger for the ballcup that has to connect into it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if theres any way to sort it, thanks

It's a GE I presume from the way you're describing it. Mine was quite tight too, went on eventually with a little persuasion from a small hammer :D

Yeh it's a GE. I suspect I've been trying to put it on the wrong balljoint, lol. Right, the gear lever comes down, then theres a long shaft going along basically with the exhaust. Heres where I think I've lost it, it's not one of the balljoints at the end of that shaft is it?

Yeh, but that wasn't the problem, it was the ball being too big for the ballcup. I'll have a look tomorrow again to see if I was in the wrong place, but seemed right for the gearbox

Oh i see, your problem is the other side? You tried grease?
Hard to describe where it attaches, but when your under the car its behind the engine up in the gap

Look where the blue circle is and you should be able to see the linkage you need to attach it to :) (can't actually see it on this pic)

Wow, for a start nice engine bay, lol. Right ok, I'll look tomorrow morning cus it's a tad late now. You've helped with more than one thing in that pic mate, now I pretty much can guarantee the air filter kit I've been after will fit, was never 100% certain, cheers

I'll let you know once mines fitted, lol. They are for road use, but would be handly for a track, to tidy up the sloppiness in the gearbox and make the gear changes smaller, something all 106s needs in my opinion, lol.
