ive heard a few on here ave these cat cams.i was looking on kam racing and it said that i will need a re map if i buy these.and that it works with the standard manifold.

but what im going to do is do these mods in this order induction, decat, manifold, CAMS last then remap

because it said i need a remap will i not be able to drive with the cams untill i got a remap?? as i wanted to get the cams fitted by my own mechanic then take the car to get remapped elsewhere so i can save money.will i be able to do this or will the car get fcuked up??

where do they do good re maps.or does any body knwo where they will fit the cams and do a remap for a good price anybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tanks :D

will i need the Piper Competition Cam Belt if i buy a new set of cams.said that il need them cheers

you can drive them without a remap, they will work but it wont be much quicker than a standard gti. Also it may loose a fair amount of power low down. But its safe to drive so long as the cam timing is close to what it should be.

Wayne @ Chip Wizards is a good chap. Google him, its £450 for the map and he will adjust the timing to get the best out of the cma.s

And no you dont NEED a pipe competition cam belt, OEM will do fine.

yeah, also change the water pump while the cam belt is off. For a couple of quid it could save you a ball ache further down the line if it fails!

Also get all the other mods done before the remap, so the remap is last thing. That way you will get your moneys worth.

If you do drive obviously don't go hammering it up through the rev range! Whoever maps it will require the front/outer cambelt cover to be off to do the adjustments on the cam timing, so remind your mechanic friend to do this when refitting everything. They are easy to put back on afterwards, or alternativly you could use a dremal and cut out the holes on the cam covers so that they cam be fitted back on but the timing can still be adjusted... ;) With a trick set of veriner pulleys can look pretty rude too.
