was looking at parts for a 106 gti.more performance than anything i was thinkin if u guys could recommed me the best part for each thing i list.be a great help.seriuosly dont have a big clue.im new to the performance thingy so if i ask a stupid question im a noob!

1. firstly will it give more performance buyin a full str8 through sytem rether then attaching a decat to the cat.or will it be the same performance or noit much either way...

2.what 4 2 1 manifold u lot say is good.and decent price.seen a ashley manifold but says i might have to chnage a few other bits over or it wont work or somthing.this true?

3. forced air induction kit.best one.aint looked yet but i like the one with the bit at the front that looks like a hoover.,is that the ecosse one? not sure/NOOB.

4.lowering.i want 60mm drop on front on 15's is it worth buyin coilover or just shocs n springs? what ones are good and decent price.ad also will i need new bushes if yes what ones.

5. cams????? cnt seem to find them anywhere.i heard they are expensive.roughly how much are they for a decent set/will u need a matching belt etc or bits to accompany this

6.re map! mate said do this last.k tecdo it for 250.up 2 30bhp add.will this be good mix for the mods listed?

u would get the same sort of power from both systems but the decat 1 u can put the cat back on for the mot, pug sport exhausts give good power gains, a lot of people go to powerflow aswell although im not a fan. this then to a 421 will give good gains aswell. dont know what u mean by changine stuff over, if u mean the lambda sensor then just take it straight over

the induction kit that looks like a hoover is the ecosse 1, racland also do 1 which is cheaper

with the induction kit and a full decat exhaust with manifold, most people get between 130 and 140bhp

with the suspension u dontneed to buy bushes , they do help though. if you r not going to be doing a lot of track use then i wouldnt say u need coilovers, just a decent set of springs and dampers will do

cams for a gti are normall about £350, most people go for somthing like the cat cams 708, they are a fast road cam with not too much duration that u r having to blip the thottle to keep it idling

with cams u will need a remap
a remap alone with no mods will not give u 30bhp, it will do on turbo diesels but not on these

everything there should give u between 155 and 165bhp

1. straight through would be better but not by much, the difference would be tiny
2. supersprint is probably the best i know of. available from kam racing
3. raceland induction kit. available from kam racing
4. coilovers are best, with new bilstien shocks probably be best
5. fast road cat cams will be best, fitted for about £500, other parts should be ok, but..
6. remap is recommended and would be worth ti with those mods

brake discs and pads sound good
