car keeps cutting out

my car keeps cuttingg out when im driving along and cuts out now and again when i start it.Any body know what might be the trouble cus i aint got a clue?help very much appreicated

Is the idle pin going mad?
Any noise's?

no idle is fine.when i start it,it fires up then a couple of seconds later it just dies.and iv just bin get a pack if fags n it died again while i was driving.my mate said it could be the fuel pump or filter.

Could be the filter...mine did something similar and i just changed the filter and it was ok :)

Could be the coil pack. They are quite expensive. Best to get it checked at a garage mate. If its going to keep cutting out when your driving its pretty dangerous!

My car used to cut out. It was a MAP sensor (about £50-60) But the idle was dipping before it cuts out.

My brothers 1.1 cut out al the time when he stopped

the pipe to the map sensor was broken on his.

defo sounds like a fueling problem mate, does the fuel pump prime ok??

this keeps on hapenin to me aswel even wen im driving along it 4th my engine jus cuts out and then i go rolling down the road and then i turn the key and it jus starts up fine agen, also sumtyms wen i pull away from light my car jus litterally does a giant jolt to a stop and then jus drives normally afta :( wats appenin to my baby ?:(

got mine sorted this morning did it again so i rang the aa cudnt be arsed get dirty,It was the crank shaft sensor coverd in SHITE.runs like a dream now apart from a leaky rocker gasket.try that mate

my first quicky did tht tryed everything spent a fortune, then i woz told tht it woz sumfin about an air control valve or sumfin cnt rember the name of it but its held on with 2 screws easy to get to and i jst sprayed it with brake cleaner and tht was it

When my crank sensor played up I couldn't start my car except by bump starting.

a simple diagnostic check will pick up on a faulty crank sensor, its the first thing i would do if mine started to run poorly if i hadn't been near any sensors. saves alot of time and cash with the trial and error route

mine use 2 do that just cleaned out the throttle body which seemed 2 fix the problem
