what are nissens radiators like?

got one for my 106 as the oem one wasent in stock? any good? looks bigger than the std one aswell hope it fits

They'll fit fine on a 1.1, all you need to do is cut the bottom rad hose down abit, as there longer.

They are the shit, your car will run nice and cold.

If you fit a 16v rad (which are bigger) it will run even cooler.

But you will need to cut about 3" off the bottom left hand hose and find someway of supoorting the fan. Bit of alu plate and some cable ties will work :)

cool, will definately invest, the amount i'm spending on radiator caps trying to find one, would be cheaper to get a nissens rad anyways! :D

the 16v ones are wider, so to fit them to cars that arnt 16v you need to chop your lower hose down about 3" and find some new way of mounting the fan,

which way would u suggest? i have a gti fan unit coming...goin to go for 2 fans like joe...16v one go on no prob?

normally you have to do both but because you are going to run a gti fan you will have a way of mounting it.

So just chop the hose down.

Oh and you wont need 2 fans with that rad... ever...

Put it this way, in the summer I fitted one to my VTR. I fitted a 16v one and ran the standard fan. Filled up and bled correctly I couldnt get the fan to cut in whilst driving...

never heard my fan cut in while driving either and i have one fitted, never seen the water temp go above half, normally sits on 1/4

Yeah, joe made a guide. But make sure you follow my little ammendments to it, otherwise you will get an air lock and it will overheat fast.

allright fred sound mate cheers ill get it off an that my oldman can bleed it he knows the score,i no u said i whont need it but ill add another fan as it looks daft with the one ,so many people have said to me whats happend to the fan ,lol,an replace the 2 rad hoses with samcos when its done its done. cheers again mate.

got a gti fan coming for mine! witch reminds me need to send a few pms reguarding stuff iv not recived off members i paid for weeks ago :rolleyes:
