I've just about had enough now of oil leaks so have taken my gti engine out and going to change every single one, and if that dosn't stop it I may be forced to burn it!

But anyway not going to rant too much now, just wondering if anyones had experience with these?

This isn't the one I'm using but similar sort of problem, I've tried...
Cutting the broken bit out and using gasket sealant and removing the whole seal and using sealant... that didn't work I think because of these spacers bits cast into them.

Can you buy new factory seals for them as I didn't get any with my head kit?

My Idea was to get them machined flat and try sealant again, anyone done this?

Any help would be great cheers!

i filed mine flat when i was usin the 106 gti covers and just sealed them with gasket sealent and they worked fine with no leaks, but now im running the c2 rockers which you can buy proper seals from cit/pug for them and they dont leak either.

Also a common place for 106 gti engines to start leaking its this part in the picture, i think they class it as the cam head, as its not the headgasket, its where the head splits into two to take the cams out, once again this just has sealent from the factory so just re-seal it, only problem is you have to take the cambelt of but if your engines out it should be alot easier to do.

heres the picture, red line and arrow point the the part im on about.

Cheers for that, I had my suspicions it may also be leaking from there. will get them flatterned n see how it goes.
