Cambelt

Hey hope everyone had a merry christmas!!! I got a new Kent cam for christmas and was just wondering about the cambelt? In the haynes manual it says that it needs to be electronicaly tensioned at peugeot. is this the only way or can it be done without it?? Cheers:)
