anyone know the best material to use when building a box for a 12" 800W sub?
thanks
MDF, Cheap and strong enough and easy to work with!Depends though you can use anything really as long as it aint toooooo thin.If you want something lighter then MDF can be weighty!
best bet for a good solid box is something like 12-18mm mdf, or if you want a real quality box, some marine ply.
dont forget the box needs to be the correct size as well, which will be on the subs data sheet!
Marine ply is good that what i normaly use
I Used 18mm Mdf!
I would recommend it everytime! But it will blunt your tools!
Here Mine i made for my GCSE project..
