Right it's been ages since we have had a SE meet... we should get one organised in the new year once the xmas period is over and people's bank balance's have recovered.
I don't particularly mind where we have it... whether it be another Blue water meet on a sunday afternoon for example... or a late one at Southend and then move onto Basildon for the antics. I understand that the weather is still pretty shocking at the moment and we aren't going to be able to get many pictures but I haven't seen the usual Essex gang for a while and it would be good to catch up. Also i'm sure we have had new members since the last meet at the end of Autumn time and it would be good to say Hi and show everyone else how popular the club is in the SE.
So doesn't matter if your got a 1.1i or Throttle Bodied GTi (or in my case VTS)... it's always a good laugh and meeting people with the same hobby as yourself.
So let's have some feedback with times and a meeting place... I'm going to suggest Southend Sea Front by the Casino, 19th January 2008. But if you have a better plan, feel free to add it and we can get the ball rolling!!
And I want to see the usual people representing....

I am on it mate i am always down south bend!!
I'll try my best to come mate, depends on state of car mostly!
Good responses so far guys.... Let's see what the numbers are like then make a decision.

where abouts are you wanting to meet , i think i might be too far away
Hmmm... Portsmouth may be abit of a trip. I'm guessing it's gona be a good hour and half/2 hours to bluewater and 2 hours + to southend... If you could convoy up with a load of people from that area it would be sweet. I know Steve with the Silver GTi is from Southampton...

Yeah im up for a meet, But im getting pretty grumpy with the cold. Your best of trying to Figure out a central place to meet to get the numbers up :)
Ok cool guys... Well members from Kent can all meet up at a central area and convoy upto Southend if it makes things easier. E.G one of the junctions off the M20 on the way up there.
I had no idea you were so close to me Piglet... I'm a big fan of your GTi.

I work in Maidstone lol A few weeks back I saw you in your old 106 Drive around the Round about where the White rabbit was but you didnt see me :P

Ok fantastic response so far everyone!!
I'd like to suggest a weekend in January for everyone to get together now we could be looking at either the 19th or 16th which are saturday nights.... so we could meet up southend for a chat and move onto Basildon later on in the evening for some grup and watching the events etc...
Or we could be looking at 20th or 27th which are Sundays and have a meet during the day time where there are little hours of sunshine... get some pics and drive somewhere for some food. Somewhere like Bluewater is quite central and relatively easy to get to...
Of course give me feed back on what you think... times and dates that are best for you and some suggestions for what you would like to do, where you would like to meet and the like!!

I'm up for this guys, i work every other saturday so I'm free on the 19th for a meet if we have one then. Might be able to pop down after work on Sundays if we have one then. :)

Jacko definately pop along mate... it's always a laugh. Don't worry about it being standard or not having done much to your GTi... My VTS is basically standard at the mo and still will be come the time for this meet. I just want to admire you polished rocker covers ;)
Also Gregg you better get your arse along mate... I want to see your new rims in person!

Never been to a meet before, count me in, and ill get my mate with his 306 GTi-6 to come down with me :D Im free any saturday or sunday (work during the week) Just let us know what the confirmed time, date, area etc (i know southend sort of, not sure where the casino is tho!)

The casino is right on the front. In the middle of the strip. Can't miss it really.
Would love to come guys, but I'm a northerner now, so I'll be repping 106owners in the north west :p

Yeah Mate I remember. Just past the casino it was. Have you got Blonde Hair? Your Quicky Was Lush if i remember right!

The rims look good, just ignore the scratch on the front right one :o bloody white van men, in need of a refurb me thinks :( lol
