View Full Version : Metal Polishing kit?? what do you recommend??

Hi everyone, i am about to polish up my rocker cover, to achieve the best results i want a polishing kit, what have people used before? thanks ;)
I havn't used this but i've herd it's good, autosol and some elbo grease :)

to get mine like this:

I really think it ads that extra shine that you can't get with just wet sanding them down and cleaning them with autosol. Although you still need to sand them to get all the crap off the rockers but it shines them up really nice. :D The pic doesn't do it justice.

Ive just literally bought a kit myself to do mine!
Got it from here....www.thepolishingshop.co.uk :)
Its the standard metal polishing kit they do and i also got a bottle of some special metal polish/wax. It just arrived so havent had the chance to use it yet :)

The kit looks really good and cheap as well! i will start off by rubbing down by hand and then get started with the kit! cant wait! let me know how you get on mate! :D

I started rubbing down by hand but i reckon it will take ages so just got this kit instead lol :)

I have just cleaned up with wirewool and degreaser, then sanding it down with 240 then up to 600 wet and dry and polished with auto sol!
I did mine of the car tho

autosol is brilliant stuff. word of warning if your thinking of taking the rocker covers of to do it be careful as i had trouble getting mine to seal back up properly n got a bloody oil leak -.-

Yup my seal has most prob been on the car for 8 years so i didnt dare take it off!
Easy enough to do it on the car, just hurts your back!

im gonna take it off on friday, if the seal is f*cked i will get another and some gasket sealent, i also ordered my polishing kit today! cany wait!!!
