I suppose this one is more aimed at fuzzy than anyone else but here it goes. Quiksilver has a digital dash but it is a single plug ecu car with cat under the car and one lambda probbe. So literally right on the swap over!!
If changing the clocks to VTS ones or 106 GTi ones with higher redline will all gauges work? or which ones wont work?

I have digital clocks mate
I put VTR ones in which have the higher MPH and water temp gauge
All gauges work fine
I tried a 2000 spec digital dials from a 106 gti (my mates) in it 2 years ago
I think the rev/mph worked - but all the sensors were miles out
Read a negative water temp - oil temp was dead
Dont know much more than that cos I couldnt be bothered with the gti dials mate - just stuck to VTR

I really miss having a water temperature guage, how hard is it to swap the dials?

I could do it in 10 minutes mate
And I've seen a couple of sets of dials go for £20 on ebay
Trouble is you lose your mileage
Which is an issue when you come to sell it
I figured as my cars done 120k, dashboard says 90k, brakes 10k, wheel bearings and ball joints 10k, gearbox 22k, rear beam 40k, and an engine is going in thats done 30k
That having a screwed up mileage was the least of my worries if I try and sell it LOL

lol see what you mean! I'm just interested to see what temp my car runs at after a lot of motorway driving etc. Wish they kept the gauge on the 2000+ ones!

Me too
I reckon with a bit of soldering I could take the mileometer thingy off a quiky clocks and put them into a saxo clocks so you keep your mileage
But that would be a right pain to do
When I put my vtr clocks in I found the temp was right up near the fans cutting in all the time - turns out my rad was leaking
Replaced it with a nissens alloy core radiator and the temp dropped 30% LOL

I think I will see what clocks this car has because with them right on the change over you never bloodyy know what you are going to get!
