not car related at all but i had to install Kaspersky anti virus on a network today, which already had Symantec installed.

instead of it being nice and easy and letting you remove it from an admin console i had to visit al 60 machines and manually take it off, not only that i had to log each pc onto an admin account before it would let me take it off, and to top it off 5 machines say the uninstall password is wrong, which it cant be as they are all using the same parent server!!!! so i had to hack it out the registry which takes an age.

and to top it off i need to instal a firewal, which ive set up but the tits are having a meeting in the server room so i cant plug it in and go home till they are done.

sorry my rant may not make sense to most but if theres one bit of advice i can give you STAY AWAY FROM SYMANTEC!

Symantec/Norton - make me want to curl up and die

Almost as badly as AOL software

I use Eset Nod32 these days - takes up virtually no memory and works perfectly (even under vista!)
