when i come to stop dip the clutch and brake revs sometimes drop to say 200rpm then back upto 900ish and it idles fine.
sometimes though the revs will drop and the car will just cut out.
is this my throttle position sensor? if so ill get a brand spanker from citroen as ive tried a 2nd hand one already lol

Either that or idle control valve

It shouldnt really be map sensor
Map and lambda are only used when not on full or no throttle
When the throttle closes the ecu goes into a closed loop for fuelling - and should open the ICV to maintain an idle
I'd say either its the TPS so the ecu doesnt know the throttle has closed, or the ICV so it cant maintain the idle

its had a new lambda and new map sensor.
i thought crank sensor was just a magnet either it works or it doesnt?
will give a new ICV and TPS a go then, bet it will cost a bomb lol

Yeah crank sensor wont cause it to just loose idle - it would cause the timing to be out throughout the rev range

If it's the crank sensor the will struggle or not start, but can be bump started. That was a sympton on my old engine. Got a new one and it started up first time.

do let us know on this one. i have the same problem, however my car seems to pick a random day in the month and play up for that day, then be perfectly fine for another few weeks lol.
have tried changing most sensors, however TPS isn't one i've tried yet. hve changed the idle control motor on mine and made no difference.
mine does the same then i took it to a garage and turned out to be idle control valve

I dont have any idea whats causing this but when i was learning to drive my instructors car started to do this (55 plate fiesta)
It went back to Ford a few times and they couldn't find out what was wrong, he ended up replacing the car.
Sorry i couldnt help.

you need to reset the ecu when you change parts (and i killed a icv because i plugged it in with the battery connected. dont ask how that happened!) or at least i had to unplug the ecu for half hour after i fitted a new icv cus it made it 10 times worse, until the ecu was reset and it ran perfect after that.
