^^^lol

**** that... looks like grp A or summet.. herd of them cracking the box if you only have the one.

ring skip brown and get a GRP N... £28 diliverd IIRC... :)

nah thats group N, its hardcore but not amazing. Group A is solid metal with a tiny rubber ring. Full group N is anti social, full group A is crazy.

It will vibrate and make more noise, you will love it and it may even arouse you :) your missus/mum/sister/bit on the side wont like it.

I have a powerflex, it takes out all the crappy engine movement but minimises the vibrations but they are still there...

hardly any women get in the 106. there tooo scared, lol. got the l200 for comfort, so i want the 106 to as loud, raw and hardcore as possible. so this sounds like a good option.lol

hmm bit expensive for grp N then... as said mate ring skip brown, will be cheaper.

havnt really noticed and noise increase with mine and not that much vibrations either.

because all you can hear is the dash vibrating. In a stripped out VTS the engine vibrations where loud.

French cars arnt put together amazingly well and hardcore mounts make it worse.

Group A's will make stuff vibrate loose, such as bucket seats subframes, manifolds etc

Yes, a mate of mine has to keep a tube of loctite in his car tool box...

He has an AX VTS with solid lower mount.

Yeah sure is Group A - I seen that the other Day.

My Full set of Group A's certainly never managed to loosen my nuts on my Manifold studs or my bucket seats in the year or two I had them. Self Tappers on my rear carbon doorcards sometimes came a little loose though!

did you notice some strange effects in your rear view mirror????

kenich
26-11-2007, 09:37 PM
Yea - The Mirrors weren't really worth bothering with on idle. From what I remember when driving it it wasn't "as" bad! Still Crap in a road car. I loved it but it wasn't practical by no means.

Its more the annoying French shit vibrating all the plastic around the cabin that done my head in.

theres only the dash left in mine but that manages to produce umpteen different rattles depending on revs...

oh and the roof light/central locking thing!!!

I just have a powerflex 1, does the job. Has reduced engine movement and stopped my pugsport from hitting the ARB :) Vibrations are minimal as well

Would people recommend i got a gearbox mount to go with it??

kenich

Imagine the poor fucker driving it every day in a road car. Fun for a few weeks I bet, damm annoying straight after.

PS: If anyone wants to swap a Group A mount for a Group N Mount - I have a new GroupN mount here LOL

the car isnt used every day, just a bit of fun really, for when i need cheering up. lol. so i think i can live with the group A jobbie.

kenich

Defo! If its a weekend car - Your be happy to live with it :D

I tried living with mine for 6 months but gave in, in the end.

does it make the power delivery a lot quicker/smoother? and tighten up the gear changes? because mine has gone a bit sloppy?

GTi Andy
26-11-2007, 10:02 PM
I'd say its more direct

vicky
26-11-2007, 10:08 PM
It doesn't bother me at all lol. But I don't drive it every day.

Also, peeps a full set of group A's will need some seem welding in the engine bay.

Powerflex only make the lower gearbox mount.

One day Ill get a full set of N's but currently getting a liscence back is what I need to saving for....

If you notice, it mounts to the bottom of the gearbox :)
