Right....
I know I'm going to get people saying do a search, do a search.
I've seen all the threads, but I'm confused by all this cleaning business. I usually go to Morrisons and pay 3.50 for a ten minute DoItYaself wash, but was thinking I want to get some products for the car and I wanna do it right.
I've just de-badged the back of me car a couple weeks back and the Peageot sign on the paint is still visible. What can I use to get the paint back there? Also what fabric to apply it on too...
Noticed when the car's been washed, couple days later it pisses down and then the car looks all dirty. What can I use so after I've cleaned the car the shine will still be there I wanna see the car shine decent for once lol!
Would appreciate your inputs people rep left too (all you rep whores :p).
Gracias,
Craig.

well there is loads of product most ppl use autoglym or megs they are the two best.
i use megs.
I use there nxt gen shampoo stuff with a megs washmitt and it comes out really good.
you should get a megs claybar to and do you entire car that usually makes a huge diffrence.

what do i need to make my car shine???
what you need is a "steve" closely related to "the stig" but excelling more in car detailing than out and out speed...
these "steves" can often be found at shows and are easily spotted carrying microfibre cloths and positioning mirrors under there cars..
trapping is often difficult due to crowds around there car but is possible with a good old fashioned lure technique...
many "steves" are attracted with a product called meguairs so start with a few drops of this on an applicator pad and position in the back of a large transit or estate type vehicle...
once attracted by the heady carnuba aroma the "steves" will find it impossible not to investigate further..
once trapped "steves" are often quite placid and tame pets but will often spasm and occasionally fit if faced with scratches or heavy brake dust build up...
hope this helps..
happy trapping....
sorry steve xx

LOL harsh, but true :p
LMFAO ^^^
Autoglym car shampoo, and super resin polish ;)
Although megs stuff does smell awfully nice :D
The more time you spend as well the better results you will get too. But as for which is better between megs stuff and autoglym stuff, I've used both and really couldn't tell you the difference, they are both as good as each other :)
And if you want to do it all you may want some metal polish, glass polish etc, tyre gel etc etc etc

theres a thread i put up ages ago asking the same question..
as in what products and what steps have a search it should still be on here.. do a search mate
basically:
wash 2 bucket method
then something else
er... then a polish..
then wax...
oh clay bar it somewhere in between them steps too...
i gave up and cant be ass`d it gets wash-polish-wax twice a year (usually coinciding with a show) and a cold hosepipe and sponge once month.....

i would start with:
-rinsing all dirt off the car, if using a pressure washer use at an acute angle to the panels.
-Snow foam the car, to remove extra dirt off car, leave for 5mins.
-Whilst waiting, clean the wheels and tyres. i use wonderwheels on alloys and tyres
-rinse all snow foam off the car and rinse wheels.
-then wash the car using two bucket method, there could be a guide on this somewhere. I use a wash mitt with maxi suds 2 and megs hyper wash.
-rinse car again removing all soap.
-run water over the car and let the water sheet off.
-Dry the remaining water with a micro fibre drying towel. i use a eurow X towel.
-Apply tyre dressing to tyres, i use megs tyre endurance gel.
-Apply autoglym bumper care to black plastics
-Clean glass inside and out, i use a mix of white vinegar and water.
Thats a simple weekly clean for me, this will not add shine to the car but my car already has its polish and wax on it. this method reduces scracthes and swirls to the car.
A full detail will include alot more steps. which could include
-after the first wash i would claybar using the car using megs clay kit.
-Wash the car again with the two bucket method.
-Dry the car, as before.
-I would then use Dodo juice prime lime paint cleanser
-Apply 1 coat of autoglym super resin polish
- Apply 2 layers of Dodo juice wax, leaving 30 mins in between each coat.
I would use an applicator pad to apply the polish and wax and a decent micro fibre cloth to buff off.
im sure people can add to these steps but should be a good basis.

The Detailing begins as mentioned by Rob_0.
Thanks for sharing this information and methodology in english, because I just have this information in the Detalhe.net that is in Portuguese. But for sure, there is several websites and forums with Detail information.
