How random is that? What has Lotus got to do with Pug? I can understand how Astons and Jags get some Mondeo parts, with them all being Ford, but that Lotus is just odd

nice one dargs kidnap the images off cm.
done a fair bit to it since these pics there nearly a year old, im also doing a xsi 16v conversion atm as i carnt keep away from the french pocket rockets did want my gti back but the kid i sold it to crashed it so ive been told since.
all i can say is dont knock a lotus until you drive one on road and even better on a track, but do cost to keep when doing track days and still keeping it road legal r888 seen 2 track days and 800 miles...

i got the maximum out of my gti 149bhp well could of went more but could spend anymore sold it for £3500 at a loss would of cost me that again to break even.
s2 elise are good but weight a fair bit more than the s1, i prefere mine other than the s1 exige (depends on if i can afford to upgrade this year trying my best)

well when i had to go and get another hazards switch as i use it alot......... lol i got it from a rover 200.
the stalks are from a old astra/ nova along with the key!! it was shock horror when i test drove my first one i did expect a little more but then test driving one really puts the smile on your face.
i was looking at s3's, tt's, focus rs they didnt live up to what i wanted hence the lotus, aint looked back since.
well apart from a tvr cerbra mad idea soon got put off when i spoke to a speacialist who ive got to know well and spent alot of money with and he advised 5-8k a year put aside for repairs on them with out tyres and brakes...
Lotus did a deal with frog land then... :(

LOL Your not the only one with that mad idea! I get it on a regular basis. I had TVR / VX220 / Elise in my Top list. I reckon il still go with lotus. Plus yeah I know it won't be cheap happy motoring, but im happy with that

tvr is defo a no go for me now
i had this big debate over the elise vs vx220 my boss put it this way... when people ask you what car you drive you reply
a lotus elise dont have to say much more
a vauxhal vx220 "ay" you know the little sports car "ohhhhhhh
the vx220 turbo is fast when modded my mate had one with 330bhp i class myself as a good driver but i know i couldnt of handled that, which brings me onto the next point, alot of other people carnt in standard form and tend to find alot of them have hidden pasts or ar cat c or cat d's
and the way the vx220 and elsie is made you dont really want one thats been in a crash as aliminum once bent of took abit of flex weakens and as the car is glued an rivited together i value my life more than that.

friend of a friend had a tuscan, the thing lived on the rev limiter for 4 years he owned it used everyday and not a thing went wrong. One day he sold it, guy that bought it from him only used it once or twice a month it then started to break etc because it wasn't beingt used. These things are made to be used maybe if they got used more often they would work for longer

i do see what you mean with the carbon add on but they weight more than the oem items, as lot of them you have to add on top.
its all about power to weight on the lotus, ive shed 5kg out or a car which was most basic to start with! my car now sits 15mm lower on the coilover set up than the passenger side to compensate me and half a tank of fuel on a track, it was all new to me though tga where i ad it all setup and serviced were mad! but it works
