Just been chatting to James and had a thought
Sometime in July/August - how about a National Day for everyone to come to
Somewhere central maybe santa pod or somewhere around there...?
Organise it a few months in advance so everyone can book time off, big gazebo with a bbq and free food and drinks. Track for some action for the track slags amongst us
Awards for best show car, best track car, best overall 106 .. stuff like that
Worth organising?

Definatley worth organising....... im only doing a few major events this year.... FCS and most likely USC (cant be fooked with pugfest) so a 106owners day will top the year off :)
Fuzzy Orange
05-03-2007, 10:10 PM
USC will be awesome - was going to bring that up aswell
For those that dont know it aint much of a car show - more 3 days and 3 nights of alcohol, booze and women!
I'm going this year with a huge tent and wondered who else would. Bic & Batchy normally are up for it
I'd like to get to 4 or 5 big shows this year at least

A good idea, depending when it will be. July will be busy for most of us as most of the weekends are taken with shows, but august is less hectic.
106nick
05-03-2007, 10:12 PM
Too right!! USC is the fooking nuts
yes it is full of chavs and i mean FULL
But it is a GREAT weekend. friday/saturday night is just one excuse for a huuuuuge piss up and party.
i can't wait :D
Fuzzy Orange
05-03-2007, 10:13 PM
Maybe august time then or even september - do it as kind of an end of season day?
106nick
05-03-2007, 10:14 PM
Yeah sounds like a plan...
plus the weather is usually pretty good in august/september still :)

hows about a track day trip out to a track somewhere around midlands?
is it cadwell thats in lincolshire or around about there?
could be the ideal meeting point for the majority maybe and a good little track
could set up a club stand to raise some interest in the club for anyone attending on that day and also a chance for people to go out on track if they wish
or if its permitted and its an open pit lane all day those that do go on track could always take a few of the non track wannabes out for a blast in the more track orientated cars
(if ya dont get scared easily ya can come in with me hehe)
Fuzzy Orange
06-03-2007, 09:56 AM
Was meant to talk to you about that
Im organising a bit of a track day with some clio valver owners in may at cadwell if youre interested?
leeds106
06-03-2007, 09:59 AM

It will be sometime in May mate - gonna cost about £135 for a FULL DAY with open pit lane
So you can run as much or as little as you want and full use of the pit area for working on the car
Its gonna be my little spring treat - see if I can show clio's how real cars handle :D
I'll post a new thread about it when I get the date mate
Asked aidy but he was a big gay and said track days werent his thing, probably worried about scratching his graphics LOL
leeds106
06-03-2007, 12:02 PM
see if aidy gets the bug once he has been round donington ya never know his view might have changed by then :)
but yeah £135 for a full day sounds good to me
think ill bring along a jerry can to top up cos FCS used a whole tank nearly in 4 hours lol
106nick
06-03-2007, 12:03 PM
I'll pop along to cadwell (not go on track of course) i f*cking love that place!!
Fuzzy Orange
06-03-2007, 12:04 PM
I'd be more worried about spare tyres - im gonna get some 15" steel wheels off a berlingo van or something daft and chuck some slicks on
leeds106
06-03-2007, 12:07 PM
meh ill have to try and get some 888's on the steelies for it i guess :)
early august would be a good time for it
would definately be up for it anyway and possibly get my new car out on the track if its at a track and i've sold the saxo etc in time
Fuzzy Orange
06-03-2007, 04:09 PM
Excellent - so I'll get toby to start looking for some locations around august where we could maybe get a track sessions aswell
i know its abit further up than the sort of area thats been mentioned allready but what about croft????
its abit less for the scottish members to drive but will be alot more for those right at the bottom of the country to travel
Fuzzy Orange

The problem is like with PGAC and other clubs - 90% of our members are in the midlands and the south
Northampton is about 3 or 4 hours for people like you and the same for the people down south...
If we move it any further north people from london and below just wont come
PGAC solved it with a midlands based national day (which turned into FCS) and a scottish national day
But I don think we have enough scottish members yer
leeds106
06-03-2007, 04:58 PM
donington park is quite central and a damn good track too :)
either way give me a good 8 weeks notice and ill be there :)

Fuzzy Orange
06-03-2007, 06:31 PM
Donington would be nice but VERY expensive
Reason I was thinking santa pod is its only a tenner to get in and theres plenty of space to get a bbq going and sit around chatting
And the 1/4mile run for anyone who likes that sort of stuff - but room for the show lads to wash and wax :)

TBH i think it would be a bit unfair having it way way up north that would be like a whole day travelling for me, I am quite happy to meet in the middle

06-03-2007, 08:16 PM
im up for a day at pod on the strip.
august is a busy month for me & i suppose will be for most show goers.

AIR FIELD TRACK DAY!
Reasons;
- Cheaper then normal Cadwell etc track day
- Place for every one to park together = more chatting/meeting new people
- bbq area
- low risk of smashing your car up
YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE!
Fuzzy Orange
07-03-2007, 07:25 PM
All depends on cost mate - we dont have a lot of free club funds lol
106nick
07-03-2007, 07:33 PM
Blyton airfield! ;)

i think stick with cadwell.
its a smooth as a babys bum & you dont have to watch out for cones!!! lol
£135 approx for a full day at somewhere like cadwell is a bargain!!!

i think stick with cadwell.
its a smooth as a babys bum & you dont have to watch out for cones!!! lol
you need to learn how to drive if ya hitting or having to avoid cones lmao
sexy_gt
09-03-2007, 07:23 AM
what i mean is you have to watch out for cones!!!
as in, your not watching the layout of the road, you have to concentrate on little orange cones!!!
who is going to want to put their nice roadworthy car through all the potholes/gravel, etc on an airfield when you have beautiful tracks like cadwell?
when i go to york dragstrip its horrible on the drive up there along their rally airfield!!!!
leeds106
09-03-2007, 04:36 PM
airfields are the perfect loctaion for a newbie to track days as they have a massive run off for when you spin out
tracks can be a little less forgiving depending on the gravel run off etc
personally ill do any kinda track day if the price is resonable
I'll av a go on a track, may not be much good but would be a laugh lol!

but yeah a track day thing in september would be good, just dont clash with donny south cos thats like 20 mins from me if its still at chelmsford!!
i need ma car back and then bring the track days on!! only thing is ill run out of fuel every hour or so!!
ill be up for it!

kewl cant wait.
in PGTi mag this month theres the issue for another forum that had gone to cadwell :(
really want to get my ass round it.
just been looking on various trak sites to get a good deal on which day to go there at a good price. Javelin seems the best price.
be soooo good to see a load of pugs flying round. will have to get my camera rigged up. anyone know anywhere i can either get a sucker or something to attach the camera to the car??? dont want it falling off half way round though.

I was looking at them earlier on ebay. Quite expensive!
sexy_gt
23-04-2007, 09:02 AM
for cadwell, the cheapest was £160 and i think thats quite good, as cadwell is amazing. is sooo smooth & as they say, its the mini nurburg (i wish i could afford the £800+ to go there...)
that £160 is for a full day, for a 2.5hr session of an evening its £99 so if you look at it that way its a bargain!!!
but, if you compare it to RWYB prices, it is steep. but much more fun and enjoyable.
