View Full Version : December Meet - Cadwell Park

Sunday 9th December
I know its early and we havent even had our october meet yet, but thought id get this up with plenty of time for you guys to book time off work, etc.
Stews booked myself & him onto a Javelin (http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/trackdays.html#oct) trackday see National Events (http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=14589).
If anyones interested in doing it, its on Sunday 9th December, at the minute the price is £109 and that includes an additional driver. This is really cheap for cadwell, as the spaces become fewer, prices will go up. Last places are usually around the £150 mark.
Spectators get in for free. This is why i thought it would be good for the monthly meet.
Passenger rides can be bought on the day £10, you must wear a helmet, these can be hired on the day, but you need to leave a deposit of (i think) £55, so bring a helmet along just incase.
please post up your thoughts, if no one is interested in this as a monthly meet, we can arrange to go to the gamekeeper at lincoln as usual on another date.

Its tight twisty and has loads of differing gradients hence its nickname of 'UKs nurburgring' lol I've been a few times but never been round it looks a very difficult track very technical and not much run off AFAIK.
History of Cadwell Park
Set in the rolling Lincolnshire countryside, Cadwell Park was established in 1934. The length of the track, nicknamed the 'mini Nurburgring', almost doubled to 1.3 miles in 1953, when the ascendant 500cc motorcycle-engined Formula 3 class was invited to race in a traditional bike meeting. Reg Spreckley thus became the track's first car race winner in his Cooper. Some 30,000 spectators were said to have watched the meeting.
The original track, with its fearsome and photogenic Mountain feature, grew to its current 2.25-mile layout in 1962 and hosted the British F3 series the following May. It has three configurations – the rarely used Woodlands circuit, the short Club circuit, and the splendid, daunting Full circuit.
These days, its car racing exploits are confined to club meetings but they are invariably crackers, the track's swooping nature providing fantastic racing.
Circuit Statistics
Full Circuit Length: 2.173 miles (3.4768 km) Direction: Clockwise Corners: 11 Club Circuit Length: 1.481 miles (2.3696 km) Direction: Clockwise Corners: 7 Woodlands Circuit Length: 0.712 miles (1.1392 km) Direction: Clockwise Corners: 5

(stew) mark its a nice track. a bit like a counrty lane only one way traffic :D . ive been round it a few times but passenger only. theres not much room for error in places and the barriers are never too far away! so i wont be going mad for sure.
im looking forward to driving this as its our local and want to find out if i like it to drive myself. the tracks fairly smooth but in places it makes back end skip about a bit on one of the fast corners.
the vid you shown there is a good one. what it doesnt show is them hills are quite steep you will be suprised for a track what theyre like.
be good if your there.

drivers must be signed on for 9.30 so that we can have the briefing, then sighting laps from 10am.
passengers sign on from 10.30 - make sure you bring a helmet as to hire one you need to leave a £55 deposit.
ill be leaving grimsby about 8.15/30 if anyone wants to convoy along??
theres numerous petrol garages in louth to fill up before you go.
