where does the temp sensor go

heres the one i bought....they told me there was a choice of 2 so i just got the longer one.... where does it go?

I would have guessed the green one as the main temp sensor

I think they are both temp sensors though - one for ecu and one for radiator fan or something like that?

i dont think you can mix em up, they have diff connecters, like a change in the groove

cheers ill give it a try...a mate said you need to use sealant...is this necessary?

There are three:-

The blue one in the piccie is connected to the ecu

The green one in the piccie is connected to the temp gauge/warning light

There's a third in the top nearside of the radiator which connects to the electric fan.

Which one do you want to replace?

i wana replace ecu one....im sure the green one is the ecu one mate? the plug from that fits on ym new one.....and do i need 2 use sealant?

ur right - green one is the ECU .......... just me being dyslexic and colour blind at the same time :D

As for sealant - if there is no sealing ring or tapered thread then you can use sealant as the ECU sensor doesn't earth via the threads into the engine block .......... just make sure you don't get any sealant on the sensor probe itself.

Hey guys, Cant belive ive found this amazing forum! ,

anyway im in need of some help, ive got my mot in less that a week:eek: and the temp light on my dash (pug 106 zest 2 2000 w reg 1.1) is permantly on and the fan is always on, so i have had to take the fuse out of the fuse box as it would drain my battery,

I believe i need a sensor, but which one, where do they go and where do i get them, cheers guys i hope you can help me!
