What does a Load lever switch do?

I have a big problem with power in my 1.5D, it won't go over 75mph and takes over 40 seconds to get to 60mph!
I think it may be the load lever switch on the Injector pump.
There is a broken wire - see picture.

What does a load lever switch do?
Are they easy to replace?

not sure on your problem but fk me that is slow 0-60 lol hope you get it sorted mate
