has any one gone about putting a ps2 in there car, recently after buying an alpine iva d300r head unit which looks the dogs iv found out a ps2 will conect straight to it, but just want to know how to power the ps2, dont want a crappy cig lighter adaptor, want it doing proper, no wires etc etc

hey what i did was went 2 a scrap yard got an old switch out of sum S1 an hooked it up 2 the cigarette lighter behind the centre console put in a multi cigarette lighter behind the dash an hid the wires then whacked in an inverter its bodged but no-1 notices lol i got 19inch tv n64 fm transmitter an a spare cigarette ligher socket hope it helped (probs dint) but oh well i jus felt like postin ;) lol

is it a normal ps2 or slimline 1 i supply proper inverters for these that you can hard wire in that are safe.

You'll need an inverter mate, make sure you get one with the right power rating for your ps2, they ussually come wth pretty good instructions for wiring them up. Then its a simple plug in ps2, wire it up to back of screen and your pretty much done.
what would happen if i buy inverter which plugs into cig lighter but cut the cig adapter bit off and connect this to battery, is it going to drain battery and what can i use if it is going to drain battery.
