Just had a part of my sill painted up where it was all gouged by the previous owner, fella came down today and sanded it down after it was painted, to try and blend it all back in. Its gone from being abit brighter to being quite alot paler than the original. Much i can do? I'm guessing he polished it to much, was using G6 and a machine polisher.
He then went over my wing with some other polish/compound, im deffo gonna get it all machine polished now lol!

yea everyone has told me its hard to match! :( Had a diablo red one before this, do i keep getting hard to match ones!?
Was thinking of geting the front and rear smoothed but i dont want them to be different colours than the rest of the car, and i don't want a full re-spray :(

If your getting the front smoothed , they will probably blend the colour across the tops of the wings, but they might be able to just blend it up the bonnet, if the colour isnt too bad .
Im still trying to get a spot on match, as it is a nightmare colour , i always use a white basecoat underneath yellow to try and get rid of the grreny look.
When i get a good match i will let you know what paint it was matched in ...lol

the dude said he'd redoo the whole bonnet, thinking about it now. When the sill was done it was a little 'new' i think a polish would have been alright but he went over it twice with G6 and a machine, and its not laquered either :( and it was grey primer!
Such a minefield! Don't know if i can trust someone to do it lol!

Just respary the whole car - then it'll match :p
Could always try fading it out over a bigger area then theres less chance it'll be noticeable

i take it someone came to you to paint it? in my experience you'll always get a better job taking it to a bodyshop

Not laquered? but saying that im not sure if you can get a varient in solid colour instead of basecoat , always better to blend the basecoat out and laquer it , as its a neater and better alround job .

Yea its unlaquered, he said he could do the whole sill but i dont want it all as bad.
A full respray would solve it lol, but the paint work is in good nick as it is and i can't afford one lol!
How do you fade the new paint then? I'm interested in getting colour to match aswell. You said something about sanding the laquer?

painting cars is anoyin even on white and black cars but you almost always have to get it faded in and body shoped.
